Responsibilities:
1. Carry out duties/responsibilities in accordance with the Trust and Directorate Policies, Protocols including Health and Safety Policies.
2. Greet patients in a courteous and professional manner.
3. Check the relevant details of patients requiring Pathology tests, resolving outstanding difficulties.
4. Obtain by venepuncture or capillary sampling the correct blood specimens.
5. Ensure samples are correctly labelled, put into the correct containers and otherwise properly treated so as to be suitable for the analyses requested.

Inexperienced applicants may be considered providing a venepuncture course has been completed prior to interview. The service operates between 07.30-16.30 Monday to Friday; 7.30-12.00 Saturday and Sunday and includes bank holidays.
