Receptionist - Portsmouth Post Title: Receptionist Site Location: BH Live Active - Mountbatten - Portsmouth Salary: 23,861 per annum Hours: 40 per week Contract Type: Permanent The role: BH Live is recruiting for a Receptionist to join our busy team at the Mountbatten Leisure Centre in Portsmouth. This is a busy role, providing high-quality customer service to all our customers and ensuring that our customers' needs are fully met. We operate Portsmouth's flagship leisure and event venue in partnership with Portsmouth City Council. Located in the heart of Hilsea, Mountbatten is located just a short distance from Portsmouth's city centre. The leisure centre offers a large well-equipped gym, accessible by a lift, has multiple zones with something to suit every activity preference and level of fitness. Dedicated training areas have lots of cardio kit to choose from, free weights, functional fitness spaces and more. Due to the nature of our business, you will work on a shift rota basis, working 8 hour per day, 5 days a week. This will include working on weekends, evenings and bank holidays. The early shift starts at 6am and the late shift finishes at 10.30pm. You will: Provide customer service and assist and advise all our customers in a polite and friendly manner, to make their visit to the centre an enjoyable experience. Be responsible for the collection, control, and reconciliation of income in line with the centre's procedure on cash handling. Administer a booking system. Administer and maintain membership schemes. Assist with the administration of all centre's courses, parties, and activities. Assist with membership sales and enquiries. Present to the public a high personal standard of appearance and presentation as per the centre's staff charter. Assist with general clerical duties including typing, preparation of literature and notices. Assist with issuing leisure cards. Operate our switchboard ensuring calls are dealt with promptly and efficiently. Assist with the review and implementation of new systems applicable to the efficient operation of the customer service area. To be successful you will need: A genuine passion for providing an excellent customer-focused service with great communication skills. You will need to be flexible in your approach to your working hours and be available to work the hours that the site is open on a rota basis, this includes working evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
