As a Utilities Consents Manager, you will oversee the management and discharge of consents, permits, and approvals for infrastructure projects in the utilities sector (Rail/Highways/Water). You will act as the key liaison between project teams, statutory authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
Consents Management:
1. Lead the process of securing, managing, and discharging consents in compliance with NRSWA, Electricity Act, Telecommunications Act, and other relevant legislation.
2. Develop and maintain relationships with statutory bodies, including local authorities, utilities providers, and regulatory agencies.
3. Support the discharge of Development Consent Order (DCO) requirements, ensuring compliance with their conditions.
Stakeholder Engagement:
1. Act as the main point of contact for consents-related discussions, ensuring timely responses and resolutions to queries.
2. Work collaboratively with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure consents are obtained and discharged without delays.
Regulatory Compliance:
1. Monitor changes in legislation and provide advice to the business on their potential impact.
2. Ensure all consents are obtained, maintained, and recorded in line with project and legal requirements.
3. Monitor project compliance with conditions set out by authorities.
Reporting:
1. Maintain accurate records of all consents and approvals.
2. Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on consents progress and risks.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Extensive experience in utilities consents management, particularly in the context of NRSWA, Electricity Act, and Telecommunications Act.
2. Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory requirements governing utilities and infrastructure projects.
3. Proven track record of working with statutory bodies and regulatory agencies.
4. Experience in managing and discharging consents as set out in Development Consent Orders (DCOs).
5. Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
6. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple consents across concurrent projects.
7. Experience in the utilities, highways, or rail sectors is highly desirable.
