Job Description
3. Processing payroll from start to creation of the new pay period.
4. Ensuring that all starters and leavers are processed promptly, accurately on the payroll system.
5. Prepare manual calculations where necessary.
6. Provide assistance and clarification on payroll policies, procedures, and deductions.
7. Collaborate with HR to address and resolve payroll discrepancies or issues.
8. Calculate and process statutory payment calculations.
9. Prepare and transmit BACS files in accordance with the monthly deadlines.
10. Processing of the P11Ds on an annual basis.
11. Pension, including auto-enrolment, monthly pension assessments, payment of the pension contributions, opt-ins and opt-outs.
12. Stay up-to-date with relevant tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance in payroll processing.
13. Processing of the monthly journal data for Finance
14. Complete the year-end processes and generate necessary reports.
15. Payment of the HMRC, third party payments and ad-hoc payments to employees.
16. Keep the payroll manual up to date.
The Successful Applicant
17. Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and integrity in handling payroll information.
18. Good overall payroll knowledge including manual tax & NIC calculations, and statutory leave such as SMP and ShPP.
19. Able to work as part of a team as well as independently.
20. Able to use own initiative and proactive in resolving queries
21. Proven experience in payroll processing and tax compliance.
22. Familiarity with payroll software and related tools.
23. Ability to build relationships within HR and Finance as well as with our employees.
24. Strong attention to detail and able to multi-task effectively.
25. Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
26. High level of computer skills, including being able to pick up use of new software quickly, and excellent Excel skills including Vlookups, logical formulas and pivot tables.
27. Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure, and able to meet all deadlines.
28. Outstanding communication skills (written and oral).
29. May be working towards an accountancy degree
