You MUST PROVIDE YOUR OWN TOOLS. You also need to have a valid Driver's License and a clean driving record.
Functions:
1. To maintain and promote the Tyson safety culture.
2. Receive training as required.
3. Perform various positions as required/assigned.
Description:
This position is responsible for maintenance and preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Tasks:
Applicants will be considered for any Truck Shop Mechanic opening. This position requires a current valid State driver’s license. Must supply own tools for minimum maintenance. Must be able to use basic electrical, pneumatic, and hand tools. Minimum 1 year basic mechanical or maintenance skills including PM on equipment, oil changes, greasing, repairing or replacing semi tires, brake repair or replacement on semi-trucks and trailers, and minimum 1 year experience operating cutting torch and electric welder. May perform air brake, electrical, and air conditioning work. Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders up to 20 feet, bend, stretch, reach, work in extreme hot, cold, inclement weather, and odors. Must be able to read and understand assignments. Must be able to communicate both orally and in writing. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Requirements:
Must have a minimum of 6 months of work history with one employer within the past 12 months.

Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.
Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Tyson Foods.
