Job Title: Management Accountant
Location: Lincoln (Full-time, On-site)
Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 per annum
Reports To: Group Financial Controller
Are you a skilled Management Accountant with a passion for numbers and a strong attention to detail? We are looking for a talented individual to join a rapidly growing business based in Lincoln, where you’ll play a key role in supporting financial processes and helping drive the company’s continued success.
Position Overview:
As a Management Accountant, you will work closely with the Group Financial Controller to manage and report on the financial health of the business. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and providing valuable financial insights to assist in key decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate management accounts, including profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in preparing the annual budget and monthly forecasts, providing accurate financial projections and variance analysis.
Cost Management: Analyse and manage costs across the business, identifying areas for cost-saving and operational improvements.
Financial Analysis: Provide detailed financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and improve profitability.
Inventory & Stock Control: Monitor inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock valuation and efficient resource management.
Month-End Close: Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end financial processes, including accruals, prepayments, and general ledger account reconciliation.
Internal Controls: Support and maintain strong internal financial controls, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Tax & Compliance: Assist with VAT returns and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.
System Maintenance: Support ongoing improvements to financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Skills & Qualifications:
Education: Part-qualified or qualified CIMA/ACCA or equivalent. If part-qualified, a commitment to studying and completing the qualification is required.
Experience: Proven experience in a management accounting role, ideally within a manufacturing or distribution environment. Experience with stock management is essential.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting, with advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial modelling).
Analytical Skills: High attention to detail and the ability to provide insightful financial analysis.
Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
Time Management: Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across various departments.
