Data, Technology and Innovation (DTI) is leveraging state-of-the-art data & digital capabilities to deliver innovation in regulation. We utilise data science and intelligence gathering to proactively identify and intervene to prevent harm and protect consumers.
We are looking for Senior Developers to help build out our Digital Delivery Hub in Leeds.
You will become a key member of an agile squad, specifically responsible for the development of code and tests that contribute to the delivery of the Product defined by the Product Owner which must comply with architectural and quality standards.
This is an opportunity to be involved at the beginning of an exciting new initiative within the FCA. Day to day you will work with the technical lead within an agile, multi-disciplinary team, working with developers, testers, agile leads, delivery managers and product owners to deliver a range of digital products.

What will you be doing?
* Leading the development within your Squad alongside mentoring and coaching of more junior members of staff to enhance and improve the team’s capability
* Taking ownership of incident/support issues and remediation of defects
* Delivery of development artefacts against product requirements
* Leading specific work to implement wider engineering principles to inform and help towards establishing an engineering community of practice
* Feed engineering insight and experience into the wider Strategy and Architecture team to identify opportunities to improve engineering across the whole organisation
* Contribute to a culture of effective development with an agile approach of continuous learning and improvement

Minimum
* Proven experience as a Senior Developer including a solid understanding of software engineering principles and their application
* Direct experience of Cloud Native development; ideally on AWS
* Proven experience in either Java/C# and React/Angular
Essential
* Experience of working with Solution/Technical Architects, specifically understanding system architectures, architecture frameworks and understanding the trade-offs required during implementation
* Experience of working in an Agile environment using Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
* Adept at leveraging automation to improve development processes and optimise software delivery
* Effective communication skills, including within the squad and with wider stakeholders
* Ability to collaborate with both engineers and product teams — including designers, product managers, and analysts
* Commitment to the development of high-quality code, including but not limited to the following characteristics: coherence (classes and modules), low coupling (all levels), maintainable (adoption of development frameworks, commenting/documentation, and coding conventions), testability and Software Engineering discipline
* Graduate level education (or extensive experience) in Computing, Computer Science, or equivalent subject
