We are looking for a Data Analyst (Data Mapping) for a 12 Month contract based in Derby (2-3 days per week) on behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs As a Data Analyst (Data Mapping) you will be responsible for: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Analyst with a strong focus on data mapping, migration, and transformation. The ideal individual will have a solid understanding of data models and data architecture. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for performing data mapping tasks to ensure accurate and efficient data migration and transformation processes. Key Responsibilities: Data Mapping: Define, create, and document data mapping specifications for migrating and transforming data from source to target systems. Work with Data Architects and migration teams to map data across multiple platforms, ensuring consistency, integrity, and accuracy of data in all stages of the process. Data Migration and Transformation: Assist in the migration and transformation of large volumes of data while ensuring smooth integration between systems. Ensure that data mapping aligns with business requirements, data models, and overall data architecture. Toolset Expertise: Utilising the Eqube MI toolset to support data mapping activities and ensure the successful execution of data migration and transformation tasks. Leverage application experience to identify potential issues in the mapping process and recommend solutions. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with Data Architects, business analysts, and IT teams to ensure that data mapping specifications align with project goals and timelines. Work closely with business units to understand data requirements and ensure mappings support business operations. Quality Assurance: Perform data validation and quality checks to verify the accuracy of data mapping. Ensure all mapped data is consistent with data standards, business rules, and the defined data model. Required Skills and Qualifications: Proven Experience: Strong experience in data mapping, migration, and transformation Previous experience with Eqube MI toolset and a good understanding of data models (Highly Advantageous) Technical Expertise: Experience with data migration techniques and tools, including an understanding of ETL processes and data integration. Familiarity with data architecture principles and best practices. Analytical Skills: Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies in data mapping. Strong problem-solving skills to resolve mapping issues effectively. Communication Skills: Ability to clearly document data mapping processes and specifications. Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Preferred Skills: Experience with data transformation tools and techniques. Understanding of database management systems and data warehousing concepts. Familiarity with data governance and compliance standards.
