This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding team working within CAMHS Early Help Pathway working with Children, Young people and families to work as a CAMHS Liaison Practitioner.
This role will be joining an already established team within the CAMHS service. CAMHS Early Help pathway provide consultation, assessments and targeted, short term interventions up to 8 sessions within the I-THRIVE model with the focus being on early intervention within children's mental health. The post holder will work as the named Early Help liaison practitioner for schools within the locality, offering consultation, advice & signposting to services.
The post holder is responsible for supporting the emotional, psychological & social wellbeing of children & young people with a drive for early intervention. The post holder will actively promote resilience, prevention & early intervention to children & young people.
The post holder will contribute to the CAMHS advice & support line.
This will be based on a hybrid model of working with access to office/clinical space as well remotely.
This role will require at least 2 years post qualification experience of working with children & young people within mental health or equivalent with a professional registration.
All staff are expected to be able and willing to work across a 7 day service.
Main duties of the job
1. Work as the Liaison practitioner within the early help pathway to deliver consultation, advice & signposting to community services and schools working with children & young people with mental health difficulties.
2. Implementation of evidence based targeted interventions & groups evaluated using outcome measures. To ensure that they access timely assessments & interventions. Representing CAMHS in multi-agency meetings having oversight of mental health element.
3. Participate in the delivery of training for schools & community services. Maintain standards of care to highest level within available resources. To actively participate in line management with junior members of staff. To liaise effectively with the other CAMHS pathways. To develop and maintain relationships with all providers.
4. To maintain confidentiality in respect of the young people at all times. Communicate clearly with children & young people, their families and all other health professionals.
5. Actively participate in clinical governance & quality improvement initiatives. Ensure that children & young people are encouraged to play a part in decision making about the help they need, how they can access specific interventions promoting person-centred care.
6. Contribute to the provision of the advice line.

Job responsibilities
1. To work as the identified Early Help Liaison practitioner to deliver consultation, advice and information sharing for community services and schools working with children and young people who may present with mental health difficulties.
2. Co-ordination and implementation of evidence based targeted interventions in a timely manner with the emphasis on early intervention to deliver best outcomes for CYP.
3. To ensure that children and young people access timely assessments and the appropriate targeted interventions.
4. Have the knowledge of external services and be able to signpost children, families & professionals.
5. Providing 15 Clinical contacts with young people and families each week.
6. To support the delivery of evidence based group programmes for children and young people with mental health issues from a portfolio of available CAMHS training.
7. Take a lead in representing CAMHS in multi-agency meetings such as EHAT, SEND, CIN meetings or child protection meetings to co-ordinate and have oversight of mental health element of a multi-agency plan around a child.
8. To function as a member of the CAMHS Early Help Pathway taking appropriate responsibility for the implementation of decisions made by the pathway.
9. Ensure planned interventions are implemented effectively and evaluated using Routine Outcome Monitoring (ROMS) and minimum data set.
10. Maintain standards of care to highest level within available resources.
11. To actively participate in line management with senior and junior members of staff.
12. To liaise effectively with the other CAMHS pathways.
13. To develop and maintain relationships with providers statutory and non-statutory.

Qualifications
Essential
* RMN, RSCN or RN(LD) registered with NMC
* or
* Occupational Therapist/Social Worker (registered with HCPC)
* Clinical Associate Psychologist under supervision of a Consultant Clinical Psychologist.
* Post graduate diploma level specialist training/experience or equivalent.
* Postgraduate experience of 2 years post registration experience.
* Further relevant training/courses

* Mentorship qualification.
* Understanding and awareness of therapeutic principles to support with providing interventions within children's mental health.
* Postgraduate training qualification in methods of working with children with mental health problems, e.g. counselling, systemic practice or post grad diploma in child and adolescent mental health.
* Evidence of practice supervisor & assessor training completed to support nursing students.
