We’re looking for an experienced WordPress/Shopify Developer to join our team in Manchester City Centre. Working as part of a group of companies, you’ll be our sole developer in the UK, liaising with our off-shore team in India, and reporting to our CTO (in the UK). In a nutshell, you’ll work with low-code solutions (WordPress and Shopify) to produce a range of websites, some of which are translated into as many as 25 languages. You’ll have some guidance as to look and feel, but will need a bit of a creative eye to ensure that user experience is as strong as the functionality in the back end. You’ll create custom themes, plugins, or modify existing setups. We’re implementing Salesforce (legacy sites are on Zendesk) across our portfolio of businesses, so we’re looking for someone who has strong experience of integration with Salesforce for safe and secure collation of data, and application of some of the features that Salesforce offers. While you’ll be based in our Manchester City Centre offices, you’ll work on sites for internal and external customers. A mix of companies from diverse industries including Superfood Market, COUCH (and its customers) and artgallery.co.uk. Some of these projects will be new builds from scratch, and in some cases you’ll work on the ongoing maintenance and improvement of live sites. In doing this, you’ll have a range of colleagues that you’ll work with, so we’re looking for someone who loves working with other people and enjoys communicating to understand the needs of a project. As well as the development and maintenance of sites ensuring scalability, performance and compliance with industry regulations, you’ll build landing pages, implement A/B testing, and implement localisation strategies for websites with multi-lingual and multi-region capabilities. You’ll work closely with our Salesforce lead to integrate websites with Salesforce CRM for data storage and management, and bring experience in designing web forms that capture and store data into Salesforce standard and custom objects. You’ll have implemented Salesforce bots in previous work, and bring that experience too. From a security and regulation perspective, you’ll ensure that all web solutions are HIPAA and GDPR compliant. You’ll understand and apply database access restrictions and encrypted data storage. We’re looking for someone who understands that regulations vary geographically, and be able to demonstrate examples where you’ve worked to accommodate these variations. Once live, we’ll seek to continuously improve our site performance, and you’ll set up Google Tag Manager, cookies and other tracking mechanisms to facilitate this. Knowledge of Google Analytics and reporting to analyse user engagement and conversion data that can inform web optimisation will also be helpful. In return, we offer a collaborative working environment in which you’ll develop relationships with a global team of experts. You’ll have the autonomy to do great work your way, and the responsibility to drive the performance of the various sites that you work on. Please note: We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates, regardless of race, gender, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation, or age. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK. Your personal data will be processed in accordance with our privacy policy, available upon request. Any offer of employment is subject to satisfactory references and, where applicable, a DBS check. We do not accept speculative calls or applications from recruitment agencies, thank you.
