Mt Alford Station is located 10 minutes west of Methven, encompassing over 2200ha of land ranging from irrigated flats to extensive hill country. Mt Alford carries a range of livestock classes, including Perendale ewes and Angus cows, finishing all progeny and also buying in store cattle and lambs.
We are looking for a motivated individual to work alongside an enthusiastic team, striving to reach animal, environmental and societal targets. The role will require a flexible workload and would suit someone with a broad range of skills.
This is a newly created role, which will be a fixed term position for 12 months. However, it could lead onto a full time role for the right applicant, with flexibility around days and work times possible.
Responsibilities:
* Tractor and machinery operating
* Stock work and animal husbandry
* Spraying and native planting
* General farm maintenance
Experience in all these areas is not essential as training and support will be given, but honesty, reliability, positive attitude, sense of humour, and a willingness to learn is essential. Observational skills and attention to detail are important for this role, alongside clear and effective communication skills.
