Focus of the role: Capgemini FS is currently looking to hire a skilled SQL DBA to join it's Application Development and Maintanence practice. What you'll do: The SQL Server DBA will conduct troubleshooting and bug fixing on databases and applications, dot net based. Duck Creek and MS Dynamics resolving issues without excessive downtime or data loss. They may need to validate data and perform some testing to ensure that the database systems and access programmes meet the end user’s requirements. SQL Server DBAs from time to time might need to ensure that data is intact correct and accessible after a server migration or backup. Another responsibility of the SQL Server DBA will be gathering requirements and specifications from ongoing BAU change development and use this information to design and structure data and grant access to users. The DBA is expected to share these requirements with developers on the team to guide development projects and ensure that the system meets functional requirements. SQL Server DBA will constantly seek out methods to better handle data and increase system efficiency. This can mean assisting developers with writing more complex and optimized queries changing data structures or automating tasks to decrease development time. SQL Server DBAs may also propose and develop improved methodologies and institute best practices around database security and access. What you'll bring: Experience creating SQL Server Partitions on live Databases. Capable of SQL query performance tuning. Designing and reviewing Indexes for performance Experience in design considerations for large SQL Server tables with billions of rows. Ability to troubleshoot live issues related to SQL Server database. Knowledge and experience in high availability configurations for SQL Server databases. Data management Need to have familiarity with data management principles and best practices in order to properly store migrate and structure data for multiple applications Problem solving skills, i.e. skilled in creative and technical problem solvers able to isolate and resolve database issues in real time to maintain access and data integrity. Software programming while the DBA wouldn’t write much code they may advise developers on operations scripts and triggers to improve database access and should be familiar with one or more scripting languages. Communication skills SQL Server DBA will need to communicate direct with Client teams, gather requirements and prepare reports related to database issues. Process enhancement. Skilled at developing more efficient processes for handling and accessing data automating recurring tasks and performing routine maintenance. Insurance Domain Exposure. Exposure to insurance accounts will be an added advantage although not mandatory. Experiences in deploying and managing MS SQL Databases for Infrastructure applications. Experiences with one of the public cloud platforms AWS Azure and Virtualisation VMware. Familiarity with deployment automation frameworks e g Chef Ansible and TFS. Experience with PowerShell or similar scripting language. DB Administration Experience with MSSQL. Good understanding of AD VDI SCCM technologies and options.
