Special Needs Support Assistant (Speech and Language interventions)
Full time/ Part time some flexibility for the right candidate. Monday to Friday. Normal working hours would be 8.15am till 3.45pm (32.5 hours per week). However, school can accommodate 9.30am start till 2.45pm finish if required. Required from September 2025 (or shortly after) until 31st August 2026 Fixed Term Contract.
The vacancy is to provide additional support to children whose oral speaking and listening skills and development are a cause for concern. The role is varied and may involve the delivery of a number of different Speech and Language interventions appropriate to the age and needs of the child. You will be working mainly one to one with pupils although there may also be some small group work with children from Year 1 to Year 6. It is expected the majority of the time will be working with junior aged children.
School will provide all the support and training required to those candidates appointed to ensure they are confident and capable in fulfilling the above role. No previous experience is required although it is desirable that they have some insight and/or experience of how children can be supported to speak and listen well.

* Are flexible and happy to work with children from Y1 to Y6 in small groups or 1 to 1.
* Are open and enthusiastic to further training to enhance their own skills and understanding
* Is a fast learner
* Has excellent spoken and written English and Maths skills
* Is caring and flexible, who will enjoy working as part of our excellent staff team
* Has a good understanding of education and is able to extend young children’s learning.
