Morrison Water Services are currently looking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on our Thames Water AMP7/8 Framework in the London Area on our substantial and dynamic Mains Renewals programme.
The works will consist of the replacement and abandonment of over 65km of Water Mains over the next five years in the South London area while maintaining the Thames Water 'Always in Supply' requirements.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be required to build and lead the Mains Renewals team of Quantity Surveyors and Assistants and be a valuable part of the wider Commercial Team.
You will be responsible for
- Effective procurement and management of subcontractors, from agreement of terms and conditions, risk attribution and scope through to Final Account.
- Managing and mentoring Quantity Surveyors and other junior members of the team in carrying out the administration of the commercial and financial aspects of the Capital Delivery Frameworks.
- Working closely with the operational teams.
- Administering the bespoke Principal Contract containing, among others, elements of NEC and I Chem E Burgundy Book.
- Managing change through the Early Warning and Variation processes with both the Client and subcontractors alike.
- Value and margin maximisation.
- Producing or support the production of CVRs, applications for payment and Cost Forecasts.
- Close monitoring of staff, material, plant and other resources on site.
- Analysing spending trends and strategising from the resulting data.
- Seeking out opportunities and challenging practices, planning and approaches where cost savings are identified.
The Key Requirements
Do you have a BSc in Quantity Surveying or similar qualification?
Do you have experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, or a similar level within a civil engineering or utilities contractor?
Are you commercially astute?
Do you want to build and lead a vibrant team delivering one of the largest suites of Projects awarded to Morrison Water Services on AMP7 through to AMP8?
