About National Services Scotland (NSS):
National Services Scotland (NSS) is a national NHS Board operating right at the heart of NHSScotland, providing invaluable support and advice at a strategic and operational level. NSS supports customers to deliver their services more efficiently and effectively and offers shared services on a national scale using best-in-class systems and standards. Our priority is always the same – to improve the health and well-being of the people of Scotland. We do this by working in partnership with colleagues across Health and Social Care to deliver fit for purpose solutions and systems, delivering high quality services that help our stakeholders to free up resources so they can be re-invested into essential services.
The Post:
As part of a team, the successful candidate will participate in a rotating roster to support the collection and delivery of blood and blood products across sites in Scotland. The majority of work is pre-planned and deliveries are on set routes; however, there is an element of ad hoc requests, which are managed by the Transport Co-ordinator, who serves as the line manager for this role. These services must be delivered to a high standard and will involve travel throughout Scotland. A range of vehicles will be required to be driven, covering cars, coaches, and articulated vehicles. Full training in the handling of blood and blood products will be given.
