Job Description
The Senior Social Care Worker - Supervisor is responsible for providing support to individuals in a variety of settings, ensuring a high standard of service delivery. This includes assisting individuals to live well through their own strengths, skills, community, personal gifts, and the people who play a key role in their life.
The role includes ensuring that individuals receive high standards of care and support in accordance with relevant legislation and national guidance associated with the service. You will be responsible for providing person-centred support and maintaining a positive ethos that promotes people’s independence within their personal capabilities and outcomes.
The purpose of the job is to assist with all tasks associated with managing delivery and development of the service, including the supervision, coaching, and development of staff, and to actively participate in the provision and facilitation of person-centred planning to support outcomes. You will ensure the service is providing for the health and wellbeing of people who use the service.

* The grade of this post is J
* Salary shown in the advert is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance of £2,742 per annum (pro rata)
* Hours available for up to 37 hours, 52.18 weeks per year
* Temporary contract for a period of approximately 12 months. This is for the duration of a period of maternity leave, and will terminate following the return to work or resignation of the postholder
* Please note this recruitment is restricted to individuals that hold the minimum requirement of SVQ3 Children and Young People (SCQF Level 7) and HNC Social Services (or equivalent practice qualifications) and Formal experience as detailed in the relevant experience section of the person specification.
* Preferred candidates will be required to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update prior to a formal offer of employment being made
* The successful candidate will have to complete registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) when they begin in post
* A relocation package does not apply to this post
* We will pay interview expenses from within Shetland
* You must have the ability to travel throughout Shetland at short notice and where public transport is limited
