Our client is a global manufacturing leader in the FMCG industry. An opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Engineer to join the Maintenance team.
Reporting into the Engineering Manager, the Electrical Engineer will work in a 6-man team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Overseeing and undertaking accurate and efficient changeovers.
2. Providing on the job training to members of the production team.
3. Ensuring continuous improvement of machinery performance through the accurate recording/reviewing of the main downtime causes and solutions, and the implementation of engineering improvements.
4. Ensuring effective shift handovers by liaising with other production technicians.
5. Ensuring the effective and safe operation of all machinery and reporting all failures to the Engineering Manager.
6. Liaising closely with the other members of the engineering department to ensure maximum performance of the production machinery.
7. Adopting a flexible approach within a fast moving environment by recommending and supporting improvement initiatives to improve line and individual performance.
8. Fully co-operating with the ongoing requirement for personal/team training and development to achieve the main job purpose.
9. Ensuring all documentation and record systems are maintained to high standards on a daily basis in accordance with ISO 9001:2000.
10. Maintaining a high degree of both product and personal safety in accordance with HSE, EHO and HMCE requirements.
11. Ensuring adherence to all legislative requirements by implementing and auditing risk assessment controls.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
1. Apprentice trained, ideally in electrical engineering.
2. Multi-skilled.
3. Ideally experienced in fast-paced manufacturing environments - desirable.
SKILLS
1. Able to communicate at all levels.
2. Ability to maintain a high level of discipline associated with the daily compliance of hygiene standards and the safe operation of factory equipment.
