About the role
We are recruiting a Transport Coordinator to assist the Transport Manager with daily operations, ensuring legal, cost, and budgetary requirements are met, including tachograph infringements, routes, drivers' hours, payroll, and compliance. Responsible for briefing and de-briefing the driver team.
The working hours are 40 hours per week over 5 days, potentially including Saturdays and public holidays.
Responsibilities
* Route allocation and adjustments
* Ensure timely departure of routes and follow-up on late or no-show vehicles
* Maintain records related to driver's hours, licenses, tachograph, vehicle inspections, H&S, defects, and risk assessments
* Manage drivers' hours in accordance with working time directives
* Sign off tachograph infringements
* Complete DAL and manage driver rosters, payroll, and holidays
* Handle absence management and related paperwork
* Liaise with agencies for driver coverage
* Conduct investigations and disciplinary processes
* Monitor PDA compliance and resolve non-conformance issues
* Report on performance metrics
* Resolve delivery issues and liaise with couriers
* Coordinate with CAD team for store credits
* Ensure incident and accident paperwork is completed
* Participate in depot audits
* Serve as a key-holder and site responsible person at weekends and in the manager's absence
* Maintain staff training records and administer training
* Conduct driver de-briefs and daily briefs with colleagues
* Perform stock counts and logs
* Handle escalation queries
Minimum requirements
* Understanding of transport environment and LGV vehicles
* Proficiency in MS Office
* Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
* Experience in a fast-paced logistics environment
* Class 2 LGV Licence (desirable)
* Experience with SAP, PO raising, and invoicing
* Knowledge of Microlise system (advantageous)
