And our work is only just beginning. The opportunity: Interim Group Legal Counsel, based in Purfleet, Essex/Hybrid (Remote working will also be considered) FTC or Day Rate. About the opportunity: This is an opportunity to deliver a pro-active, professional legal and corporate compliance services to the Nestware Group including Carpetright UK, The Floor Room, Keswick Flooring and TradeChoice, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance across the UK, ROI and other European jurisdictions. A snapshot of some of the requirements as outlined below: You will provide legal advice and guidance on day-to-day legal queries and other legal compliance matters. Reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and advising on all commercial contracts and legal documents. You’ll be advising and providing legal support on all FCA compliance matters and take ownership and responsibility on financial crime compliance matters. Respond to questions in relation to the company on DPA and GDPR compliance You will advise the business on pricing rules, in particular the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Practices Regulations and associated pricing guidance published by the Chartered Institute of Trading Standards and the CAP code. This role will take ownership and responsibility for the effective administration of insurance policies Manage trademark disputes, registrations and renewals Supporting Group departments regarding corporate finance About you: A qualified solicitor with substantial ‘post qualification experience in the same role, ideally within a similar commercial group environment including retail/consumer sectors Graduate with a strong educational background You’ll have the ability to effectively manage a varied workload with conflicting priorities. A confident and collaborative operator who can work cross functionally and provide support and guidance where required. You will of course be an excellent communicator, with the ability to build strong relationships across the business at all levels and share complex information effectively.
