A Vacancy at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust.
Your role will include working closely with the Paediatric Mental Health Practitioner to expand and develop the service. The role will involve working directly with Children & Young People to deliver safe, compassionate, and dignified patient centred care, adopting a holistic approach which includes psychological support for all CYP presenting at QEH with a mental health presentation/condition.
You will be working with the wider mental health services from other agencies, attending multi-disciplinary and safeguarding meetings.
You will also will be working as part of the wider paediatric nursing team with the expectation that clinical duties will be undertaken after gaining required competencies.
To actively participate in the planning and delivery of CYP individual care plan, which address the mental health needs of Children & Young People, whilst a patient within the hospital.
Undertake interventions that have been identified as part of the CYP’s treatment pathway.
Support CYP to develop coping skills, crisis management and carry out emotional stabilisation work to support discharge back to a community setting.
Prepare Children & Young People for the discharge pathway back to a community setting or specialist admission.
Ensure all communication relevant to CYP is shared with clinical colleagues.
Working alongside nursing colleagues, completing basic admission and assessment process, with a mental health presentation, completing child and young person wishes, feelings, goal setting and management of risk, with the support of PaMHS.
Gain competencies in clinical skills to allow supportive working within Paediatric ward in the absence of CYP with a mental health presentation.
