The M&E Team in London are looking to expand beyond the 40 plus staff currently operating out of the region. They specialise in the delivery of building services, energy and sustainability services and deliver mechanical and electrical engineering design solutions from initial feasibility stages through detailed design and on to construction, handover and post-occupancy.
An opportunity has been created for an Associate Electrical Engineer to join the established mechanical and electrical engineering team in London and form part of a successful Building Performance Engineering Division.
Responsibilities:
1. Working as part of the senior team to win and deliver inspiring projects.
2. Be a proactive participant in the leadership of the Building Performance Team.
3. Project delivery, including overseeing input from others.
4. Organising and planning of resources including external suppliers.
5. Delivering projects within budget, on time to the required standard.
6. Supporting the timely invoicing and debt chasing, management of WIP and forward workload/resource planning for own projects.
7. Attendance at design team, client and site meetings as required.
8. Responsible for the design quality and profitable delivery of own projects.
9. Demonstrate commercial thinking and client management expertise.
10. Timely reporting of project/office financial information to contribute to meeting budget at team level.
11. Project set-up and briefing.
12. Co-ordinating and working with others in the BPE division to maintain design quality and consistency across teams.
13. Working with other divisions to integrate design and also input to deliver a multi-discipline offering.
14. Support the company ethos including wellbeing, day-off for good causes.
15. Be fun to work with and engender a team spirit, being a supportive coach, mentor and leader of the team.
16. Have experience in dealing with complex negotiations and people situations.
17. Have a strong awareness of Health and Safety issues and industry practices.
18. Have an established network of industry contacts.
What you need to succeed in this role:
1. Relevant qualification(s) at HNC, HND, Bachelors or Masters.
2. Proven Electrical Associate, with a strong track record in the UK on a range of mainstream building services projects.
3. Experienced team manager, including recruitment, wellbeing, performance management and development.
4. Ability to win work and undertake business operations including marketing, commercial and financial responsibilities.
5. An articulate communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills.
6. Ideally a knowledge of BIM processes, Revit and IES/Amtech.
7. Ambitious and dynamic, you enjoy change and variety.
8. Positive outlook and self-motivated.
9. Someone who believes in the values and wishes to contribute to success.
10. Ideally a Chartered Engineer, an Incorporated Engineer, or working towards full membership with a relevant institution.
