We have a current opportunity for a Qualified IDVA to join a leading Domestic Abuse charity in Birmingham. The position will be based in Nechells, B7. For further information about this position please apply.
Job Title: Qualified IDVA
Location: Nechells, B7
Hours: Monday - Friday 09:00 - 17:00
Hourly rate: Between £14 - £17 ph holiday pay
Job Type: Temp to perm
Key Responsibilities:
1. Process referrals according to local procedures
2. Manage a caseload of service users, helping them to maintain or acquire accommodation and community support services
3. Support service users who attend drop-in sessions
4. Deliver expert advice and assistance on homelessness within a domestic abuse context
5. Undertake initial inquiries into a person's eligibility and homelessness/threatened with homelessness status making referrals to appropriate safeguarding agencies for people with no recourse to public funds.
6. Administer housing need assessments and conduct extensive investigations to fully understand and respond to survivors housing and additional support needs.
7. Develop, update and review Personal Housing Plans (PHP) with survivors. Set out and agree on realistic tasks with the survivor and ensure the PHP remains relevant whilst homelessness prevention and relief duties are owed
8. Using effective case management skills to timely prevent and relieve homelessness. Where homelessness cannot be prevented, support the arrangement of suitable Temporary Accommodation (TA) and First Night Placements.
Person Specification:
9. IDVA Qualified
10. Experience of working with people affected by domestic abuse and/or in housing need
11. Experience of completing assessments, including risk, formulating action plans and managing a caseload.
12. Clear Enhanced DBS
