Job Description
About the company & role
A global luxury brand with significant international operations in the leisure & hospitality space is currently seeking a Head of Legal (Construction & Real Estate).
This role will be the legal lead supporting the Construction and Design team, overseeing legal issues globally relating to the entire property portfolio, construction projects, and any construction disputes.
The role will also support the real estate and construction aspects of M&A deals the company is undertaking, as well as lead on global risk management for these areas.
As this role reports to both the General Counsel and the Business Lead for Construction (who both are located at the new head office in Central London), it is envisaged that you would want to work at least 3 days per week from this location. Therefore, it’s advised that you are within a suitable commuting distance from the city.
What’s on offer?
The company has an extremely diverse property portfolio and significant multi-million-pound construction projects. This is an ideal opportunity to leverage further experience in an interesting sector across broad geographies.
The role will be an ideal step up for someone at Legal/Senior Counsel level looking for a business reporting line and to take on a global scope of work, or someone currently working in Private Practice who is motivated and capable of taking on a fast-paced, diverse in-house role.
A provisional budget of around £100,000 + bonus (circa 20-25%) has been set, along with significant employee discounts for luxury holidays and other corporate benefits.
About you
To be successful in the role, you need strong foundational experience in Construction and Property law, ideally gained in multijurisdictional environments. If limited to England & Wales, you should be very comfortable tackling the unknown and working with external legal providers for specialist input.
You are likely to have at least 6/7+ years of PQE as a qualified lawyer in England & Wales.
