We have an exciting opportunity for an HSE & Facilities Officer to join our existing team based in Leeds.
The Role:
Responsible for helping to ensure that the head office building, grounds and equipment are maintained in a good state of repair and are well presented and fit for purpose. Supporting the Head of HSE in managing health, safety, environmental and facilities issues as required. Managing the cleaning team.
Responsibilities
* Managing cleaning staff and site services contracts (e.g. canteen, vending, water coolers, waste).
* Helping ensure planned maintenance of facilities and equipment.
* Receiving, logging and arranging action to requests for facilities support.
* Helping co-ordinate maintenance works with site maintenance engineer and contractors.
* Point of contact for advice and support on HSE / facilities issues for other sites.
* Sourcing and ordering materials and equipment to support business operations, cleaning and maintenance.
* Making arrangements for opening and closing the building.
* Helping manage security systems including CCTV, intruder and fire alarms.
* Administering the door card access system and provision of lockers.
* Point of contact / key holder in the event of intruder or fire alarms activation.
* Delivering safety inductions for new employees and contractors.
* Administering the company e-learning system (web based).
* Maintaining accident / incident records and managing provision of First Aid at Leeds.
* Monitoring and reporting energy consumption, waste disposal and Legionella water testing.
* Managing improvement projects including building works as required.
* Administering the company eye test / glasses vouchers scheme (web based)
What we are looking for:
Essential
Computer literate including MS Word, Excel, Outlook / Other business software.
Excellent administration / organization
Interest and drive to learn about HSE / facilities including some technical detail (e.g. basic plumbing, electrics)
‘Self starter’ / able to manage self.
‘Can Do’ positive attitude
Good communication
Beneficial but Not Essential
Understanding of facilities including equipment, machinery and buildings.
Understanding of health and safety.
Experience supervising people.
