Sort Legal's headquarters are based in Derby and we have branches based in South Shields, Teesside, Cardiff and soon Gosforth.
We are a forward-thinking Conveyancing firm looking for a Licensed Conveyancer / Solicitor to complement our busy team based from South Shields or Teesside branches.
The successful applicant will work within a busy and fast-paced environment within a small friendly team, advising on all aspects of the conveyancing process with the aid of a case management system. You will be self-motivated, able to prioritize with good attention to detail, and able to work well under pressure, handling your own caseload from instruction through to completion including dealing with Freehold, Registered Sale, Purchase Transactions and subject to prior agreement Leasehold, Transfers of equity, and transfers subject to existing mortgages.
You should be personable, dynamic with a desire to learn and develop within property. In return, we provide ongoing support and offer training and development to ensure individuals reach their optimum potential.
Role Overview
* Accountable for the management of your own caseload, including file reviews.
* Provide technical support to Paralegals when required.
* Manage capacity levels.
* Provide reports and MI Support to the Head of Legal Practice in accordance with regulatory, internal and external SLAs.
* Ensure expressions of dissatisfaction are dealt with appropriately and within the agreed SLA.
* Deliver exceptional Customer Service.
Requirements
Position Requirements
* You will be qualified in the area of practice, either as a Solicitor or Licensed Conveyancer.
* A minimum of 3 years experience.
* Excellent communication skills and able to set an example to other team members.
* Able to make independent decisions relating to your area of responsibility.
* Thorough knowledge and understanding of the CLC Code of Conduct and any other governing/regulatory body’s rules and regulations, e.g. SRA and Land Registry.
* Thorough knowledge of the requirements under the UKF.
* Excellent IT skills and experience using a case management system.
* High attention to detail and able to prioritize.
* Work well under pressure within a fast-paced environment.
* Team player.
* Able to motivate, drive and inspire others to conduct their best work.
* Able to ensure compliance with the SLA’s of the panel, ensuring that communication requirements are met to clients, mortgage brokers, and estate agents.
Highly Desirable
* Experience of People Management/Team Leading.
* 5+ years’ experience or greater.
* Dealing with complex property matters.
Package
* Salary ranging from £35,000 - £50,000 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications).
* 20 days annual leave with long service accrual + birthday holiday + bank holidays.
