You would be based in a Specialist Education School environment led by experienced Specialist Teachers and Support Workers. Duties As a Catering Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the school kitchen. Working as part of a small team, you will assist in all areas of the kitchen, including some lifting and handling of equipment. Your duties will include: Cleaning all food preparation areas and fridges to food and hygiene standards. Washing all cooking appliances and equipment. Preparing food, including peeling, cutting, and chopping vegetables and fruit. Storing food correctly and in an organized manner. Cleaning the food preparation areas and general kitchen spaces. Serving lunches, including catering to special dietary requirements. Maintaining a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness. Criteria Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment is essential. Own vehicle is desirable.
