We are looking to recruit a new Medical Secretary to complement our current Plastic Surgery team. The post holder will be highly motivated and will provide day to day clinical and administrative support to the Consultants and work with the wider Plastic Surgery team to ensure that patients are treated in a timely manner. The role involves a high level of communication with a variety of staffing groups in CUH and external organisations. The ability to problem solve and prioritise workload is essential. The service will offer a supportive environment for learning and development and the opportunity to develop this role into an effective, rewarding position., To provide a comprehensive Medical Secretary and PA service to Consultants within the speciality, including co-ordinating meetings, taking minutes, ensuring compliance with CCG requirements, producing clinic letters, other documents and dealing with patient and GP queries in a sympathetic and constructive manner. Where required covering other specialties within the directorate, and coaching and mentoring staff of a lower banding for career progression and overseeing the progress of Apprentices.
Applicants should have good communication and computing skills and be able to work to deadlines. Previous secretarial experience is essential and working in a hospital environment would be an advantage but full training will be given.
