Your impact
We are seeking a highly skilled Land Quality Principal / Associate Director to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in geo-environmental consultancy, particularly in the private sector. This role involves leading complex projects on time and budget, providing expert advice and ensuring compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage geo-environmental assessments for a variety of projects across a wide range of sectors.
* Develop and implement strategies for land quality assessment and remediation.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality consultancy services.
* Prepare detailed reports and presentations for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
* Manage implementation of ground investigations and assessments to evaluate land contamination and environmental risks.
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior consultants and team members.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.
* Provide safety leadership aligned to our Beyond Zero values and culture of caring.
Qualifications and skills
* Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
* Extensive experience in geo-environmental consultancy.
* Proven track record in managing private sector projects and client relationships across all project life-stages (desk study through to remediation implementation).
* Strong understanding of Detailed Quantitative Risk Assessment approaches.
* Strong understanding of environmental legislation and risk assessment methodologies (including UK and international standards such as ASTM).
* Strong understanding of emerging contaminants such as PFAS.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Professional certifications (e.g., Chartered Environmentalist, CGeol, SiLC etc.) are a plus.
We have flexibility on where this role is based and we have offices in many major towns and cities across the UK. 40-hour week, part-time working is supported. We firmly encourage all our team members to be in an office (or on-site) for at least 50% of their working week. Applicants are required to have a UK passport or valid work visa.
