We are currently seeking an experienced Manufacturing Team Leader to be based at one of our clients sites in south Birmingham (B62) which produces medium volume electromechanical assemblies. As Team Leader you will be responsible for managing, training and developing operators and assemblers on a production line, maximizing efficiency and productivity and meeting challenging daily targets all within a culture of continuous improvement and team and personal development. Hours 07:00 am to 5:15 pm Monday to Thursday only every Friday off Responsibilities include: Responsible for quality and quantity produced in one or multiple production departments Ensure safety, productivity, quality, and housekeeping goals are obtained Fulfil the total amount of units to be built in accordance with the production plan Participation in New Product Introduction To lead and be accountable for the teams deliverables in terms of quality, cost delivery and Safety To liaise with other colleagues across the business to agree an achievable manufacturing plan To develop, implement and communicate "visual" lean measures of performance (KPIs) To lead or facilitate major improvements in collaboration with internal or external Lean experts To ensure Lean initiatives are in place on time to support customer forecasts and/or NPI. To interface with internal and external customers as appropriate regarding team issues To facilitate, coach and mentor team members through changes and improvements To ensure effective resource management in order to meet business needs Share best practice with other Team Leaders and Lean experts throughout the business To provide cover for other Team Leaders and functional managers as and when required Help set and drive Continuous Improvement Strategy Be an ambassador in creating a Zero Incident Culture and support SMS Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in area Candidates should be suitably qualified with Minimum NVQ4 or equivalent.
