Salary: £40,000 - £43,000 per year plus benefits
Our client is looking for an experienced Traffic Signals Engineer to join their team in Nottingham. The role of Traffic Signals Engineer is to deliver a range of traffic signals and associated communication projects and provide specialist services to enhance and maintain the network, meeting company business plan objectives and achieving client and customer requirements.
What you will be doing:
1. Design and manage the delivery of traffic signal projects, which may be complex and significant, to achieve quality, programme and financial targets meeting customer and stakeholder requirements.
2. Provide specialist design, technical and cost advice to both internal and external clients and bodies, to support delivery of complex and large-scale projects across the organisation.
3. Manage the evaluation and authorisation of externally designed engineering schemes on behalf of internal and external clients to ensure highway network asset meets regional and national design specifications and safety standards.
4. Collaborate with the Construction and Commercial Division to manage workflow thereby achieving company business plan objectives for productivity and profit across design and build functions.
5. Manage consultation, communication and liaison with clients and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including members of the public and elected Members to facilitate project delivery and maintain a positive company reputation.
6. Prepare all data necessary for the commissioning of new and existing traffic signal and intelligent traffic systems installations, including for ongoing maintenance and network management of the County's traffic signal and intelligent traffic systems assets.
What you need to know:
1. Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering or a related subject and post-qualification relevant experience or equivalent knowledge gained through practical experience in a traffic signals environment.
2. Strong ICT skills including competence in specialist computer applications used to support traffic engineering design activities including working knowledge of computer-aided design and knowledge of data management environments.
3. Working knowledge of current traffic signal design standards, contracts, and procedures.
4. Experience in managing project budgets and financial reporting of project programme.
5. Experience in all stages of project implementation from feasibility to construction on-site.
6. A high level of personal drive and commitment to excellent customer care and the ability to set an example to other staff.
7. Full UK driving licence.
