The Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Lead Medical Secretary & Theatre Scheduler to join our team within Cardiology at University Hospital Hairmyres.
The Lead Medical Secretary & Theatre Scheduler supervises an administrative team of secretaries and administrative clerks to provide comprehensive administrative support to a team of clinicians, enabling clinicians to operate effectively and efficiently and will ensure the work of the administrative team is carried out in accordance with NHS Lanarkshire’s standard operating procedures. You will take primary responsibility for organising theatre schedules for your speciality (or specialities) to make optimum use of the available capacity with all work should be carried out in accordance with standard operating procedures (including waiting time guarantees for patients).

What we'll need you to bring
* SVQ level 3 qualification (or equivalent knowledge)
* Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of medical terminology
* Evidence of effective team working and dealing with change
* Evidence of good communication skills with patients, clinicians and colleagues.
* Advanced audio typing skills
* Evidence of strong competence with relevant IT systems
* Excellent organisational skills
* Proven ability to work under pressure
