BCL Legal is delighted to be working with a top-tier national law firm in their search for a Construction Disputes Solicitor or Associate to join their highly regarded team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a lawyer with 0-6 years' PQE to be part of a growing practice with strong expertise in construction, housing, and public sector industries. Flexible working arrangements are available, with the position based in Birmingham but with high levels of remote working if preferred.
The Role
As a Construction Disputes Solicitor/Associate, you will:
- Advise on a wide range of contentious construction matters, including final account claims, defects, and PFI/projects disputes.
- Handle complex, high-value cases for clients such as local authorities, NHS Trusts, housing associations, and private sector entities.
- Work on significant disputes, such as PFI project disputes, compensation event claims, and defective construction cases, with recent examples including multi-million-pound adjudications and Court of Appeal victories.
- Collaborate closely with a national team of construction law experts, receiving mentoring and support from senior team members.
- Gain exposure to key players in the construction industry, including developers, contractors, funders, and public sector clients.
About You
The ideal candidate will:
- Be qualified in England & Wales with 0-6 years' PQE, ideally having experience in construction disputes, although candidates with a strong commercial litigation background will also be considered.
- Demonstrate excellent drafting and legal analysis skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Have a client-focused approach and the ability to build strong relationships with clients.
- Be eager to take on new challenges and contribute to the growth of the team.
- PFI experience is desirable but not essential.
