The Ideal Candidate:
Curriculum Planning and Development:
Develop and implement a comprehensive and engaging maths curriculum aligned with educational standards and objectives.
Create lesson plans tailored to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom.
Classroom Instruction:
Deliver effective and stimulating maths lessons to secondary school students.
Use varied teaching methods, resources, and technologies to enhance understanding and engagement.
Promote a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
Assessment and Evaluation:
Assess and evaluate student progress regularly using a range of formative and summative assessment methods.
Provide constructive feedback to students and guide them toward improvement.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and achievements.
Differentiation and Individualised Instruction:
Differentiate instruction to address the needs of students with varying abilities and learning styles.
Provide additional support or challenges to ensure academic success for all students.
Parent and Stakeholder Communication:
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, classroom activities, and upcoming events.
Collaborate with colleagues and participate in parent-teacher conferences to discuss student performance and address concerns.
Professional Development:
Stay updated on current trends and best practices in mathematics education.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Teaching certification or license in secondary education with a focus on maths.
Proven experience teaching maths at the secondary school level.
Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment methods.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Passion for fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
Enhanced DBS Certificate.
