Job summary We a looking for a Consultant Clinical Oncologist to join the department on a full-time permanent basis, based at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay region. This post attracts 10 Programmed Activities, and an on-call supplement. To collaborate with colleagues within the department to develop Oncology services.o To work with and support the established multi-disciplinary site-specific teams.o To participate in the out of hours on call service.o To liaise closely with surgeons, physicians and staff in other specialities and within the Trusts.o To support the service during Consultant colleagues' leave.o To provide supervision and management of junior medical staff.o To undertaking teaching, examination and accreditation's duties as requires and contribute to postgraduate and continuing education both locally and nationally.o To undertake clinical audit, continuing medical education, contribute to the annualappraisal process and undertake annual job planning review.o To undertake research About us Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides systemic and radiotherapy treatments for Lancashire and South Cumbria with its base at the Royal Preston Hospital at the Rosemere Cancer Centre. The centre saw a large expansion in 2012 co-locating chemotherapy and out-patient services alongside radiotherapy.
