Who will you be working with?
Napier Turbocharger, a Wabtec Company, has an exciting opportunity for a Cell Manager to join a well-established business that designs, manufactures, and tests industrial turbochargers supplied into the Power Generation, Marine, and Rail Traction industries.
Role: Cell Manager
Location: LN5 7FD, Lincoln
Hours: Monday to Thursday 07:30am to 15:45pm and Friday 07:30am to 15:15pm
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
How will you make a difference?
As Cell Manager, you will maintain an efficient production environment, and high-quality standards, manage inventory, lead and train team members, ensure safety compliance, and continuously improve processes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
What will your typical day look like?
* Oversee production output to meet sales plans.
* Ensure quality targets are achieved.
* Manage variable costs and labor productivity.
* Maintain consistent production throughput.
* Address quality issues and reduce non-value-added activities.
* Organise and execute training and development plans.
* Manage health and safety responsibilities, including audits and actions.
* Provide direct line management of the production workforce.
* Implement and manage operator performance targets.
* Support operation improvement activities with engineering.
* Assist in the introduction of new products.
* Undertake duties to drive continuous improvement.
What do we want to know about you?
* A formal qualification (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline.
* Experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Practical experience with lean tools and techniques.
* Experience working within cross-functional teams.
* Excellent planning and organisational skills.
* Proficiency in production process and system development.
* Strong employee development and performance management abilities.
* Effective communication skills at all levels.
