We are seeking an experienced and analytically driven Supply Planner to join our dynamic food manufacturing team. This role is integral to ensuring efficient inventory management, strategic procurement, and the seamless supply of raw materials and packaging. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, deep analytical capabilities, and expertise in ERP systems such as SAP. Additionally, this role will involve production scheduling to optimise manufacturing efficiency and monitor production performance, including yield management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and manage strategic supply planning processes to maintain optimal stock levels.
* Oversee the procurement of raw materials and packaging, ensuring cost-effectiveness and supply chain efficiency.
* Collaborate closely with suppliers to negotiate contracts, secure the best pricing, and ensure on-time deliveries.
* Utilise SAP/ERP systems for advanced inventory tracking, forecasting, and procurement analytics.
* Coordinate with production teams to develop and adjust production schedules based on material availability and demand forecasts.
* Monitor and evaluate production performance, including yield tracking, efficiency metrics, and process improvements.
* Conduct in-depth analysis of stock trends and consumption patterns to minimise waste and prevent shortages.
* Lead month-end stock reconciliation, identifying variances and providing actionable insights.
* Liaise with finance teams to report stock data, drive budget compliance, and ensure financial accuracy in procurement decisions.
* Monitor and enhance key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory, procurement efficiency, production performance, and supplier performance.
* Implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline inventory processes, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Proven experience (3+ years) in supply planning, procurement, or inventory management, ideally within a food manufacturing environment.
* Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel and data interpretation.
* Expertise in SAP or other ERP systems for inventory, procurement, and production planning management.
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Experience in production scheduling and monitoring production performance, including yield optimisation.
* CPIM or CIPS Part/Fully Qualified.
* Knowledge of lean inventory management principles and procurement best practices.

Salary Range: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)
