Complex Care Support Worker
Location: Billericay, CM11
Salary: £16 per hour Weekdays, £18 per hour Weekends
Hours:
1. Week 1: Friday and Saturday 0800-20.00
2. Week 2: Thursday and Saturday 0800-20.00
3. Week 3: Friday and Saturday 0800-20.00
4. Week 4: Saturday 0800-20.00
In addition, there are varied weekday vacancies available until the end of March 2025 to cover maternity leave.
A fun-loving, proactive, and dedicated Support Worker is required to work with a cheeky chap with quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy.
About the Client: The client is 8 years old and lives at home with Mum, Dad, and his two younger sisters. He is an engaging, sociable, happy, and determined boy who strives for his independence. He leads a busy life and has a long list of hobbies and interests, including playing games, story times, music, and nursery rhymes, and watching football with Dad. He has epilepsy and quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy, affecting his cognitive and physical abilities. He uses Eye Gaze Technology and PECs to support his communication. He is a wheelchair user and receives his fluid, nutrition (blended diet), and medication via a mini button PEG. He is supported on a 2:1 and 1:1 basis by his dedicated care team, providing around-the-clock support.
The Role: He attends school 4 days per week, and his Support Workers provide 2:1 care to enable and facilitate learning and access to education, socialize with peers, and participate in activities. He has an extensive therapy program in place to support his rehabilitation (SLT, Physio, Dramatherapy, OT, etc.) with training provided by his MDT. His programs are implemented by his care team in a fun, imaginative, and creative way throughout his week. Your role will be to support him with all of this along with his daily needs. We need a Support Worker dedicated to his development, encouraging him to reach his full potential while promoting his independence. This position involves lots of play and interaction. He relies on others to meet all his health, care, and medical needs, and you will receive full training in all aspects of his care plan.

Skills and Qualifications:
Essential:
* Childcare experience/knowledge in either a voluntary or vocational role or care role with complex needs.
Desirable:
* Experience in mini button/PEG management and working within a family home, clean driver license automatic WAV for use on duty.
