Consulting brings together multiple teams across Transactions, Risk & Consulting, ABA, and Outsourcing to provide client-centric solutions for RSM’s current and future clients within the middle market and beyond. Our Consulting team has a major role to play in driving forward the growth of the firm with over 1,700 people delivering almost £200m revenue.

As an Associate Director within Risk and Governance, you will be responsible for leading and undertaking a range of complex and specialist sustainability assurance engagements including for Sustainability Linked Loans, Sustainable Business Reports, and CSRD Assurance all under ISAE3000/3410 and ISSA5000 standards. Additionally, you will provide SME Input into wider Audit work such as TCFD/CFD disclosures and forthcoming IFRS S1 and IFRS S2 disclosures.
You will be responsible for managing the delivery of assurance processes and testing at client's sites, in accordance with RSM methodologies and relevant standards. Managing a team and working as an individual to deliver high quality Assurance assignments within required timescales and budgets. Working with the leadership team to grow the Sustainability Assurance client base and high-quality team.
You will make an impact by:
1. Building strong relationships with key stakeholders across RSM, the risk & governance service line, and a wide variety of clients.
2. Managing, performing, and quality controlling sustainability assurance assignments embracing assignment planning programming, conduct and control of assurance work, reporting findings, liaising with clients, and meeting relevant standards.
3. Understanding the key risks and the controls put in place to address those risks within each area of non-financial assurance assignments.
4. Working with Partners in producing proposals in response to RFPs and enquiries.
5. Assisting Partners in ensuring that assignments are completed to time and budget.

1. Good technical knowledge of the non-financial assurance standards (e.g. ISAE3000/3410 and an aptitude for learning and assessing and implementing the forthcoming ISSA5000 standard), assurance documentation and testing, and individual subjects and sector issues relevant to the work.
2. Wider Sustainability and ESG knowledge and passion for the subject.
3. Previous experience of delivering readiness and assurance reporting engagements (under ISAE standards).
4. Experience working with large global organisations.
5. Ability to review and control technical content of work of others to ensure compliance with relevant standards and quality requirements.
6. Project management skills including budgeting, billing and performance management.
7. Provide technical support as required to team members.
8. Understand the range of additional services that the firm can provide to meet clients’ needs.
9. Identification and pro-active management of own technical training and development needs.
