About us
Elangeni is a two-form entry junior school in Chesham Bois, Amersham. We are fortunate to have 240 wonderful, respectful pupils who are willing to learn in our well-resourced school within our beautiful spacious school site. We have a large playing field and playground for sports as well as a well-resourced log cabin for outdoor learning. We are looking to appoint two apprentice Teaching Assistants who have the desire to promote a love of learning and the belief that every child will succeed.
This support work will be a blend of supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and supporting small groups of children, both in and out of the classroom or on the playground at break and lunch time, alongside supporting members of the teaching staff.
Our new apprentice Teaching Assistants will be based in a year group but will also be timetabled to work across different classes and different year groups in the school.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Working 1:1 or with small groups of pupils.
* Supporting pupils with additional learning needs.
* Supporting a pupil with an Educational Health Care Plan.
* Supporting the class teacher with whole class teaching and the preparation of resources.
* Playground duties both at morning break and at lunch time.
* Maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all of our pupils.
* Being committed to becoming involved with school life as a whole.
* Maintaining a welcoming classroom environment, encouraging pupils to work independently.
* Keeping accurate records of pupil progress and reporting back to the class teacher and/or SENDCo.
* Preparing resources.
* Listening to the children read.
* Attending staff meetings and training as appropriate.
Ensuring all pupils are safe and safeguarding procedures are followed.
About you
Future Prospects:
We would hope that once the apprenticeship has been completed that our newly qualified Level 3 TA would remain with us to continue supporting our pupils and part of our amazing team.

Qualifications Required:
Have a good level of English and Maths skills.

Online safety including Cyber Security
SEND training appropriate to support needs of specific pupils
Access to National College which provides a suite of online training. Staff are directed to complete certain webinars/courses but can also access courses of personal interest for self-development.
