Position Overview:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Shipping Administrator to join our Shipping Team here at our head office in South Shields. This will be a temporary role, covering a maternity leave. This role will be essential to providing shipping to customers on time in full with high quality presentation and documentation. You will ensure clear communication is a constant throughout both internally & externally whilst working in line with objectives and the Barbour values.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* To complete internal and external customer paperwork, inline with shipping deadlines
* To ensure forward bookings are made with customers and forwarders in line with despatch plans
* To complete any documentation or answer any despatch queries within a timely manner
* To share all necessary shipment documentation with haulers and customers ahead of despatch
* To understand and upload relevant shipping information to customer portals
* Ensure strong working relationships with key internal departments and external partners
* Ensure clear communication to management to ensure resolution of any issues
* Plan workload in accordance with department priorities, complete tasks within the required timescale and communicate progress
* To ensure shared documents are updated in a timely manner to ensure visibility to all departments
* Shipments to be invoiced in a timely manner to achieve monthly sales targets
* Ensure internal stock movements are moved in line with subsidiaries warehouse demands
* Tasks to be completed inline with business KPIs
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
* Knowledge of shipping paperwork
* Excellent communication both internally and to external customers
* Excellent written communication skills in order to liaise with customers appropriately
* Pro-active planning / time management skills to enable effective prioritisation of workload
* Able to make appropriate decisions using own initiative
* Ability to work under pressure, within closely managed targets and deadlines
* Continually look for improvement and be committed to achieving the highest standards in all activities
* Effective Administration skills
* High attention to detail
