We have a great opportunity for a Buyer to join our Leicester Purchasing team. This is a six month fixed term contract and would be suitable for someone who is at the start of a Purchasing career or looking to enhance existing capabilities and experiences .
As a Buyer, you support the business needs for all direct and indirect material. You will work closely with the different functions on site, liaising with key departments as necessary and acquire the best pricing working within a total cost approach for all bought items.
This is a hands-on role covering a number of different aspects, including the sourcing and buying of product, management of suppliers QCD and contributing towards the department's key performance indicators.
Key responsibilities include:
* To purchase materials in line with Company requirements, whilst striving for the best total cost solution for the business
* Control indirect spends on site
* Support all departments on revenue, capital and expenditure, whilst ensuring all costing enquiries are returned in line with business requirements
* Provide purchasing support to ensure that customer quotes are prepared in a timely manner
* Continually review opportunity for cost savings on selected commodities and indirect suppliers
* Support the Purchasing Director/Strategic Purchasers in tasks/projects as per the needs of the business
* Ensure the QMS objectives and requirements for the Purchasing function are adhered to
About the Ideal Candidate
It would be preferred if you were degree qualified, however GCSE qualifications will be an essential requirement.

* Good time management, proactive and able to work successfully under pressure.
