We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Assistant to join our finance team on a temporary basis, with the potential for a permanent opportunity for the right candidate. This position is based in the Ascot/Virginia Water area and offers a competitive rate, depending on experience. You will be responsible for supporting the accounts payable function and ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Process and match purchase invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes.
* Ensure all invoices are coded correctly and comply with company policies.
* Prepare payment runs and ensure timely payment of suppliers.
* Handle supplier queries, resolve discrepancies, and build strong supplier relationships.
* Maintain accurate records of invoices and payments, ensuring proper filing and documentation.
* Assist in month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliation of accounts payable ledgers.
* Work closely with other departments to ensure the smooth running of the accounts payable function.
* Assist with ad-hoc finance tasks as required by the Finance Manager.
The successful Accounts Payable Assistant will have/be:
* Previous experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role is highly desirable.
