Are you an experienced People Advisor seeking a new opportunity to apply your knowledge and expertise?
Syme Drummond is partnering with our valued customer, who is seeking a skilled People Advisor to join their team in a fully remote role, with minimal travel required.
As a People Advisor, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and making decisions on a range of employee relations matters, including performance management, sickness absence, and disciplinary issues, for the South West region of the UK
While the cases will not be overly complex, the role still requires someone who can manage cases independently with minimal guidance, and who is confident in advising managers and making clear, informed decisions that align with company policies and legal requirements.
You will handle cases related to sickness absence, performance, and other employee relations matters, ensuring issues are resolved effectively while maintaining consistency and compliance across the business.
This is a role for someone who is experienced and self-sufficient, with the ability to deliver clear advice and manage cases with confidence.
Main Responsibilities:
* Provide expert advice and decision-making support on employee relations cases, including performance management, sickness absence, and disciplinary matters.
* Manage short- and long-term sickness absence, liaising with occupational health and ensuring appropriate actions are taken.
* Advise managers independently on employee relations issues, confidently providing solutions and recommendations that align with company policies and legal frameworks.
* Champion and ensure consistent application of people policies across the organisation.
* Contribute to HR projects and support the wider people strategy, offering practical solutions and advice.
Key Requirements:
* CIPD membership or equivalent HR experience.
* Proven experience in managing employee relations cases, particularly around sickness, absence, and performance management.
* Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
* Ability to advise and make decisions with minimal guidance, ensuring clear and consistent advice is given to managers.
* Familiarity with HR systems and processes, with the ability to manage cases independently and effectively.
* Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to confidently influence and advise at all levels.
* Ability to prioritise workload and maintain accuracy in a remote working environment.
