Working in the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for Thames Valley is more than just a job—it’s a chance to have a direct impact on the lives of others About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Strategic Analyst to join our team. This pivotal role will lead the analysis of complex data and trends to inform strategic decision making and help shape crime prevention strategies, evaluation of OPCC Prevention Projects to ensure money is spent on evidence-based approaches and perform deep analysis to uncover trends and patterns that inform decisions. You will provide high-level data insights, evaluate performance, and contribute to policy development, ensuring evidence based approaches drive improvement. Key Responsibilities Develop and lead strategic analysis to support the delivery of the Police and Crime Plan. Analyse crime data, community feedback, and performance metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Produce detailed reports and presentations for senior leaders, providing actionable insights and recommendations. Work collaboratively with key stakeholders, including Thames Valley Police, local authorities, and community organisations. Support the commissioning and evaluation of crime prevention and intervention initiatives. Ensure compliance with data protection and ethical standards in all analytical work. Lead a small team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. About You The ideal candidate will have: A strong background in strategic analysis, preferably within policing, criminal justice, or public sector contexts. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in interpreting complex datasets and translating them into clear, actionable insights. Proven ability to influence decision-making at a strategic level. Proficiency in analytical tools and software, such as Excel, Power BI, or GIS systems and awareness of statistical programming languages such as R and Python Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate data insights and recommendations both to technical and non-technical audiences.
