Sports Lecturer
College location: East Surrey College (Redhill)
Salary: £27,494 - £39,131 pro rata (subject to qualifications, skills, and experience)
Hours: Part Time - 8:45 am - 5 pm Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays
We are looking for a dynamic and dedicated Sports Lecturer to teach BTEC Level 1-3 courses at East Surrey College. This role is a 7 months Fixed Term contract starting January 2025 - July 2025.
In this exciting role, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons in accordance with the curriculum whilst assessing students' progress and supporting them in their learning journey across our BTEC provision up to level 3 students.
Working closely with the Director of Learning and the rest of the team, you will have the chance to share your knowledge and skills with students to help them achieve at the highest level as well as driving continuous improvement within the College. You will act as a personal tutor giving pastoral care, promote attendance, support students to attain suitable work placements, participate in team meetings, and contribute to the planning, development, and review activities within your subject area.
The successful candidate must have:
* A teaching qualification (ideally at Level 5)
* A solid Sports industry background
* A level 3 Sports based qualification
* Relevant teaching/tutoring experience in FE sector
* Degree in Sports Science
A Qualification in Fitness – e.g. Level 2 Fitness Instructor or Level 3 Personal Training and/or a degree in Sports Science would be highly advantageous.
