We are looking to hire an Applications Engineer to join our Edinburgh or our Dundee hub. You will be responsible for providing world-class technical support to global customers utilizing our award-winning network management software. We are looking for someone who has strong communication and interpersonal skills to complement a technical background/aptitude resulting in an excellent standard of support for our partners.
What You'll Do
* Identify, develop, and provide reliable solutions for all various technical issues to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
* Work on escalations and critical incidents to obtain the best possible outcome of the issue for the partners and the company.
* Demonstrate a strong proficiency in effectively managing the POD Jira backlog and a deeper level of engagement and provide meaningful contributions during cross-functional meetings.
* Manages troubleshooting coordination at a local and international level where required.
* Contribute to knowledge sharing and maintain the technical health of the frontline team, perform case auditing and Knowledge Article Management support, and assist in effectively managing technical inquiries through designated channels.
* Facilitate and maintain a high level of cross-functional collaboration with Engineering and Product Management teams to optimize troubleshooting methods for our partners. Foster a close working relationship to exchange valuable insights gained from customer interactions, while also staying informed about upcoming feature developments.
* Design, document, and perform technical and product training for Application Engineers and subject matter experts globally.
* Use our incident management system combined with autonomy over personal caseload to prioritize incidents and manage the load in line with our Service and experience Level Objectives.
* Adheres to security best practices and process.
What You'll Bring
* Operation Systems: Windows Server, Linux/UNIX, MacOS
* Strong knowledge of hardware, networking protocols, boot sequence, file systems, and API
* Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols: DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP, DHCP, VPN, firewall, SMTP, web services, email services, SNMP, FTP
* Microsoft Products/Features:
- MS Exchange, MS SQL, SharePoint
- Active Directory, GPO, VSS, System State, registry
- Microsoft 365 (Office 365)
* Working knowledge of virtualization: VMWare, Hyper-V
* Experience in scripting and query languages: SQL, Bash, PowerShell, Python
* AWS (Amazon Web Services): SES, S3, AWS CLI
