Job Reference: LCSDEC03
We have a lovely opportunity for someone to work with a 15-year-old girl with a physical disability. She needs support with personal care and sometimes someone to be around in the background while she is out doing normal teenage girl activities with her friends. She is chatty and engaging to be with. All conversations with prospective carers will involve this young person. She is a wheelchair user, and the family will provide training in all aspects of her care.
She does not take any medication and has input from SLT and participates in CrossFit as part of her exercise routine.
The hours are 3.30pm to 6.30pm during school term time (in line with East Lothian Council dates) across 4 weekdays. However, the family understands that after-school times can be tricky, so they are happy to be flexible with time and days for the right candidate.
During school holidays, the hours would include 9am to 11am each contracted workday, but this can also be flexible and is open for discussion with candidates.
The hourly rate is around £15 per hour, but this can be discussed for a candidate with extensive experience.
The start date is mid-January 2025.
We would like someone who has the willingness to learn and use their initiative. Having some ability with hairstyles would be a selling point too!
A driver is not required, but a car will be provided for the successful candidate if they drive and are happy to transport the young person to activities. Free parking is available at the family home.
Parents will work from home occasionally.
Please keep an eye on your junk mail for a response as it often goes here first time.
