The Opportunity
You'll join our editorial team to break news and deliver distinctive analysis on everything from brand strategy at major chains like Accor and IHG, development deals for independent luxury hotels, and innovation at lifestyle boutiques. Your coverage will serve Skift's influential audience of C-suite executives, strategists and decision-makers across the hospitality industry.
Some of What You'll Do
1. Break exclusive news and generate scoops on hotel companies, trends, and deals for Skift.com
2. Develop and maintain a strong source network of industry executives and insiders
3. Produce sharp analysis connecting industry developments to larger economic and consumer trends
4. Contribute to Skift's flagship hotel industry newsletter, Daily Lodging Report, and other editorial newsletters, podcasts, dataviz, and products
5. Collaborate with our global editorial team to identify opportunities for cross-beat coverage
6. Represent Skift at its own and other industry events and conferences
7. Other tasks as required
The Experience You Bring
1. 3+ years of business journalism experience, with demonstrated ability to break news and cultivate sources
2. Track record of delivering compelling enterprise stories and analysis
3. Strong understanding of business fundamentals and ability to analyze corporate strategy and performance
4. Experience covering hospitality/travel sector preferred but not required
5. Excellent writing and analytical skills with ability to make complex topics accessible
6. Comfort working in a fast-paced, remote-first environment
7. Additional languages a plus
8. Willingness to travel as needed
