Purpose of the role:
The purpose of a Head of IT & Data is to lead and manage an organisation's IT & Data department, ensuring that all technology systems, infrastructure, services and data & insights align with the company's goals and support its operations. This role is crucial for driving technological innovation, maintaining security and stability, and enabling business growth through efficient and effective use of technology.

Key Responsibilities:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of IT & Data to lead our IT & Data department. This role is pivotal in overseeing all aspects of our IT operations, from managing the service desk to ensuring the security and stability of our infrastructure. The successful candidate will also be responsible for overseeing a data team and implementing a robust data strategy.
As the Head of IT & Data, you will lead a team of 12 professionals and work closely with other departments to align technology solutions with business goals. You must be a strategic thinker, an effective leader, and possess a deep understanding of modern practices, including project management, cyber security, software management, infrastructure and data.
* IT Leadership and Strategy:
* Implement the IT strategy that align with the company's business objectives.
* Lead and manage the IT department, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to best practices.
* Oversee the development and execution of IT policies, procedures, and systems.
* Collaborate with executive leadership to identify technology-driven business opportunities.
* Data Strategy and Management:
* Lead the data team in implementing a comprehensive data strategy.
* Oversee data governance, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and compliance.
* Support data-driven decision-making across the organisation by providing reliable data analytics and insights.
* Service Desk Management:
* Ensure the efficient operation of the IT service desk, providing timely and effective support to all users.
* Implement best practices for IT service management, including incident, problem, root cause and change management.
* Project Management:
* Lead and manage IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
* Work with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met and resources are allocated effectively.
* Cyber Security:
* Develop and implement comprehensive cyber security strategies to protect the organization’s data and IT infrastructure.
* Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats and ensure proactive measures are in place.
* Manage compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards.
* Infrastructure and Hardware Management:
* Oversee the management of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and hardware.
* Ensure reliable and secure IT operations, with minimal downtime and disruptions.
* Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for IT hardware, software, and services.
* Software Management:
* Oversee the selection, implementation, and maintenance of software applications.
* Ensure software systems are integrated and functioning optimally across the organisation.
* Team Leadership:
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 12 IT professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
* Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and support professional development.
Essential Requirements for the Role:
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or demonstration of significant relevant work experience
* Proven experience in a IT & Data leadership role, managing diverse teams and IT & Data functions.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and implement data strategies and manage a data team.
* Strong knowledge of IT service management, project management, and cyber security practices.
* Experience with infrastructure management, software systems, and hardware lifecycle management.
