Position Description
The Sr. Accountant – Commissions & Variable Pay will be responsible for the preparation of commissions and other variable compensation calculations, posting of journal entries, accrual adjustments and will serve as a primary point of contact for the Sales & Professional Service Team workforce as it pertains to sales & performance-based compensation.
Position Duties
1. Create company schedules, templates, and reports as needed to quantify compensation owed, answer queries from the business and to arrive at accounting adjustments required.
2. Liaise with Payroll to determine if and when new earning codes need to be developed in the Company’s US and international payroll systems.
3. Help establish more efficient processes for the calculation and dissemination of monthly and quarterly incentives.
4. Book accounting entries in Netsuite for commission adjustments, including accruals.
5. Maintain basic balance sheet reconciliations for accrued incentives.
6. Capable of reviewing sales contracts and determining amount owed, including accelerator components.
7. Liaise with other members of the Accounting and FP&A Teams to help explain budget vs. actual variances, year to date trends, and to assist with budget setting exercises.
Position Requirements:
1. MBA graduate with at least seven to ten years of Accounting experience with an emphasis on compensation and accounting-related responsibilities.
2. Strong written and verbal communication skills, advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
